Detailed Answer
Short answer: no. You don't have to stand over our shoulder while we work. As long as we can get to your vehicle and have a safe, relatively flat surface to work on, you're free to go about your day.
How Most Customers Handle It
A lot of our customers in the Kalispell area schedule service while they're at work. Robert shows up to the parking lot, handles the repair, and you come out to a fixed vehicle at the end of your shift. Others leave the car in the driveway and go run errands or stay inside. Either way works perfectly fine.
That said, we do recommend being available by phone in case something comes up during the repair. If Robert finds an additional issue or needs to adjust the scope of the work, he'll call you before doing anything extra. You always approve the work and the cost first.
When It Helps to Be There
For diagnostic appointments, it's useful to be present so you can describe the symptoms firsthand. Things like "it makes this noise when I turn left" or "it only happens when the engine is cold" help Robert pinpoint the problem faster. But if your schedule doesn't allow it, a quick phone call before the appointment works too.
For routine maintenance like oil changes, brake pad replacements, or battery swaps, there's really no reason you need to be on site. Just make sure we can access the vehicle and you're good to go.
